The Melbourne Flames Dragon Boat Club Inc. 2009 - 2010 Annual General Meeting
Thanks to everyone for attending our AGM on Sunday August 22nd!
It was great to see such a good turn out for the meeting to start with, and it was even better to see that we had to vote for 3 positions! Friendly competition is what we need, and it’s what we got.
Thanks to Racheal, Carl and Cameron standing for committee positions, and even though you were not successful in wining the ballot, we’re very happy that you still joined the committee as members!
For those who were not able to attend, here are the results from the Melbourne Flames Committee elections:

Vice President: |

| Secretary: | Hannah Kitchin | |
| Treasurer: | Jill Hicks | |
| Club Captain: | Richard Balkin | |
| General Committee Members: |
Barbara Lane Racheal Downing Carl Downing Karen Morris Desma Smith Cameron Wise |
As you can see, a healthy mix of returning committee members and newly appointed ones, PLUS 2 extra general committee members. In other words, more hands to share the work, and make this an even more successful season than the one just gone.
Once again, a big thank you to those committee members who worked so hard with us last season:
Jennifer Reilly
Denis Jenkins
Lynn Evans
Ken Fretwell
Helen Rowe
Finally, the first (short) committee meeting will be on Tuesday September 7, 8pm at Curves Bar, Lorimer St Docklands (the food’s not bad there!). All meetings are open to members, so let us know if you want to attend and we’ll book an extra chair for you. You can also ask us for minutes of any meetings.
Thanks also to Frenchy for giving us a heads up on developments within DBV as well as the Docklands. Frenchy appreciates any feedback from paddlers about regattas, race formats, and DBV social events, so feel free to have a chat with him.
That’s all for now, stay tuned, as we get started on training again for the new season!
Paddles up!
Your Melbourne Flames Committee.
